Julia D'Amario, master printmaker, currently participating in the Jordan Schnitzer Printmaking Residency at Sitka Center, is showing a beautiful suite of sea life flora etching at Rowboat. Julia painted these images on lithographic plates and then photographically transferred the images to copper plates, where they were etched with acid and then printed. Julia hand colored a set of artist proofs with watercolor, and we are please to be able to make a number of these unique prints available during Julia's stay at the coast.

Diane Archer has recently brought in a number of mixed-media pieces that combine topographical maps with found objects and illustrations that resonate with a profound, and often playful, sense of connectedness with local landscapes. more…

Karla Steinhauser, author of I Am Karla's Smokehouse, Vol II, demonstrated some of the seafood preparation tips and techniques from her book on May 19 at the gallery. Enthusiastic fans timed her as she "shook" the meat from an entire Dungeness crab in under two minutes.

Shannon Weber has brought in a number of exciting new sculptural pieces that are now on display at the gallery. Shannon was featured on Oregon Art Beat, the popular PBS television series, on May 5. Watch the video at the OPB website, which can be reached from our Art Beat page.
