Just in time for Spring, we are very pleased to begin offering a selection of beautiful small oil paintings from Katia Kyte, an emerging young artist working out of Lincoln City.
Katia pursued her love in art from an early age while growing up in her native Russia, developing a solid foundation in art history, classical composition, color theory and oil painting technique. An interest in languages also led to a degree from Irkutsk State Linguistic University, which she earned before moving to the US in 2008.
Katia paints from life, attempting to capture the immediate tactile qualities of both the subjects she is observing, and the paint itself as it is applied with a controlled spontaneity. We are currently displaying a several of Katia's seascapes, as well as a number of her vibrant floral still lives–small but powerful images resonating with the energy of a new Spring.
